PS3 Wireless Headsets Will Work On PS4

The Dual Shock 3 controller won't be compatible with the PlayStation 4, unfortunately.

But that doesn't mean you'll have to buy all new accessories for Sony's anticipated new system. According to Polygon, the PS4 will support wireless PS3 headsets.

That's what a Sony representative said at San Diego Comic-Con this week. However, don't forget that the PS4 actually ships with a mono earbud headset, so you don't need to utilize your old PS3 headset. Can if you want, though. As a side note, Microsoft's Xbox One does not include a headset, although it does include the motion-sensing Kinect; it'll retail for $499, $100 more than the $399 PS4. As for the PS4 headset, you may not like the little earbud so this is good news, right?

Wonder what the quality is like with that earbud...

I was quite content with my PS3 wireless headset so I'll be using that. As far as the included mono headset is concerned, nobody should get their hopes up. I think if PS3 came bundled with one, MAG would have been a much more fun game. It's a shame they're shutting the servers down.

I have the Pulse Elites. Sound great to me, and being completely wireless is a plus.

Well here's your chance to change that sir!

You can use your mono-headset to yell profanity at teenagers all day long!

The Pulse Elite over the hear headphones received some really good reviews.

What they should do is allow bluetooth headphones to be used with the PS4 so that I can connect my Harman Kardon BT headphones (for in game sound and voice compatibility).

Good I bought one a few months ago and its great for games and movies. Sounds great when I am watching the play off games on Blu Ray and reliving my Ravens win.

good news for me. i got that first sony surround headset and barely use it with ps3. i got it half off when i bought bf3 on release. ill use official headset on ps3 because i wont be getting ps4 right away. then surround headset on ps4. only reason i dont use surround headset is because i cant hear anything outside game which i love. side effect is people btch if i dont hear them but im tired of arguing. starting not to care so ps4 surround it is.

That's good to know. Although I will probably go with the mono headset, because my dog ate my PS3 wireless headset a few months ago. It still works, but the thing that holds it onto your ear is all chewed up and hurts my ear hahaha.

Sony keeps picking Microsoft up, just long enough to knock them back down again with each new news report.

If it wasn't so funny how lop-sided this coming launch looks to be in favor of Sony, it would simply be super sad for Microsoft.

Well, it is, but maybe they might still have a small shot to come in second place if they can manage to beat out the Wii U in sales by the end of the coming generation.

Too bad DS3 controllers won't be compatiable with PS4m DS2 controllers are with the PS3, just have to buy an adapter, but of course no rumble feedback.

Bluetooth is Bluetooth, so there shouldn't be a problem. So long as they support my Elite headset, I'm good to go.
