Nomura: Kingdom Hearts III Is The End, But Not Really
We've tried to be patient in waiting for Kingdom Hearts III. Now, it's finally coming.
The interesting part is that series director Tetsuya Nomura says the third official sequel is the conclusion of the current long-standing battle. However, that doesn't mean the series is done. In speaking to the L.A. Times, he said loose ends will be tied up in KHIII:
"In Kingdom Hearts 3, the battles that the characters have been fighting for the past 10 years will come to a conclusion. But the series will continue. Only the particular enemy they have been fighting for the past 10 years will come to an end."
He also added some new gameplay-related tidbits. For instance, the development team is currently using the combat mechanic from Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance as a "guide" for the fighting in KHIII. Also, he didn't specify which guest characters we might see this time around, but there's a possibility that popular names from the Pixar or Star Wars universes could be featured.
Those who are familiar with the series know that in the past, the franchise has played host to iconic Disney characters such as Ariel ("The Little Mermaid"), Peter Pan ("Peter Pan"), Jiminy Cricket ("Pinocchio") and others.
Who will we see next?
