Hey, So The Rock Band Developer Seeks A...Combat Designer?
Harmonix makes music-based video games. That's obvious based on their name alone.
They've already given us Rock Band and have been pioneers in the now-ailing music/rhythm genre. Well, because the category seems to be in the dumper, maybe they're looking to expand to survive.
As Kotaku noted, Harmonix has tossed up a new job listing, which can be viewed at Gamasutra. Strangely enough, it's for a Combat Designer, who will work on generating "real-time, single-player combat experiences for a brand new IP on next-generation hardware." Here's what Harmonix's John Drake said:
"In addition to finishing development on Rock Band Blitz and Dance Central 3, Harmonix is actively developing multiple new IPs on next generation hardware. We're looking for the best and most experienced devs out there to join us."
So Harmonix will make a game for the new generation of hardware, and we'll be doing some fighting. ...okay, didn't expect that. But these days, a developer has to be flexible, yes?
