Character Customization, Armor Returns In Dragon Age: Inquisition

See now, this sounds more like a role-playing game.

It's not that Dragon Age II was a bad game. In fact, it was a great game. We were just missing a few key elements of a standard RPG. The good news, though, is that BioWare appears to have listened.

In speaking about the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition to Game Informer, we learn that we'll be allowed to create our main character from range of races. In DAII, we could customize a character, but it had to be Human and the name had to be Hawke. Furthermore, there will be the return of customizable armor, which we assume also means every member of our party can wear various pieces of equipment. In DAII, only the protagonist could be fully outfitted.

We'll also get mounts as well, which should be interesting. In terms of story, here's a brief summary from the report:

"As the game begins, the Inquisition has plenty to investigate. War, scheming, and political strife have left the major power groups in the Dragon Age universe unable to operate effectively, which is a problem when a hole opens in the sky and demons begin pouring out. Players must fight back against the demonic threat while exploring a vast world and consolidating power for the growing Inquisition."

Lastly, they spoke of "large and varied environments," which was another missing component in the last entry. So, it certainly seems as if BioWare has listened and we'll get the Dragon Age we've always wanted when Inquisition drops next year. It's in development for current-gen consoles, as well as the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

I hope the combat system is more like Origins instead of II hacknslash. Its good we can explore the world again it was terrible being stuck Kirkwall. DAII was indeed disappointing so hopefully Inquisition will be as good as Origins or better.

Starting to sound like a return to form, have you guys seen the new screens? Good stuff.

I hope they use the real Inquisition as source material.

" Blending Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2′s systems, players will be able to customise the armour of every party member – but armour will be tailored to each individual, so that they retain an “iconic” look; although the details change, the basic silhouette will remain. The example of Cassandra’s trenchcoat style armour was cited. "

Sounds good, if only they would do the same for the Mass Effect series also...

This is good news, I thought they were both good games. I actually thought the DAII bashers were overly harsh on the game, sure it wasn't as good as the first but it was still a really good game in my opinion(though I still have to finish getting the platinum for it).

I have become more excited for this game the more I read about it.

I loved DA:O, and DA 2 was decent, but Inquisition is looking to be a nice return to form, well hopefully. :)
