Thief Uprising Trailer: The Ailing City Is One Big Playground

My most anticipated next-gen game thus far keeps looking better and better. Now we just need to see more gameplay...

Another compelling trailer for the Thief reboot has arrived, and it focuses on the narrative that will drive the game forward. The setting and story are reminiscent of Dishonored but when it comes to Thief, all that matters is the stealth. Right?

This Uprising Trailer shows an oppressed people, a city torn in half; the few profit mightily and are incredibly rich, while the many are poor and struck with starvation, privation and disease. ...okay, so it's a little cliched and predictable, but that doesn't mean it can't be a quality plot. Besides, it looks like an awesome playground for a highly skilled thief, and I can't wait to explore! Stealth aficionados have really missed this dude; he has always been the epitome of a shadow...

Thief is due out for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on February 25, 2014. That's the other little bonus this trailer provided: The launch date!

Thanks, Zak!

Some of those indoor scenes looks like could have been ingame footage... If the game look anything like that then I sure gotta say we're in for a treat!

This game and Watch Dogs are the two games that I am most excited for. I remember playing the Thief games so many times over and over I could probably boot them up and run through them now eyes closed. I loved that series and when I saw the reboot I was without words.

If they stay true to the core of the series and don't try to turn it into some action adventure, open world, brawl-fest then I will be endlessly thankful for a return of Garrett.

Yeah, Thief is one of the few games I really remember from the other side of the millennium shift.
