Shadow Of The Beast Remake Rampaging Onto PlayStation 4

If you're old enough to remember Shadow of the Beast, you get a cookie.

Sony has announced a Shadow of the Beast remake for the PlayStation 4, although we don't have much in the way of specific details. We don't have an exact release date, either.

But here's the teaser trailer for the new project, and it certainly looks intriguing. The original game released on the Amiga way back in 1989, and there were two sequels as well. This remake looks to maybe combine God of War and Altered Beast in some capacity...personally, I'm kinda hoping it plays something like Darksiders, but that may be too much to ask. At the very least, it looks pretty damn good, and the end result could be wicked entertaining.

Sony also announced that Minecraft would be a PS4 launch title, and we learned about the first free-to-play LBP game.

Hmm, can't say I'm familiar with the original title. Does anyone know if the concept/story intriguing, or is it just about slicing up stuff?

This isn't the Santa Monica game is it? I think they are going a littler too far back for their remakes, the aim is to remake games that still have a rabid fanbase.

They didn't announce who was making it which I thought was interesting. Maybe Santa Monica? Who knows

Did Microsoft pay the director to screw up so many shots?

But seriously, it was frustrating to watch the conference with the camera going back and forth between gameplay and audience.

They should've waited until it was more polished...looks jerky and barely even PS3-worthy right now.

Anyway, Sony owns the IP since they snatched up Psygnosis way back when and merged it w/ another studio (Santa Monica?). The original was a so-so, but still popular 2D platformer...maybe because it had some fancier graphics than other platformers? Here are some YT examples:

how sad is that, the only ps4 game announced today that is actually half interesting is a remake of a 24 year old title!
cant believe im saying this, but christ i thought E3 was a massive disappointment!
at least that had a few interesting announcements, all this had was indie show 2013!
im sorry but i could of swore the shows called gamescom, not indiecom!
gamescoms suppose to be the E3 for europe, its suppose to be a stage for showing off the best the industry has to offer!
the best the ps4 has to offer is a bunch of indie titles?
oh dear..........
anyone want my ps4 preorder?
im just sticking to the xbox one for now, at least that has some interesting games for launch day!

MS did not revel anything great and mostly just dlc for third party games and a Kinect game. Most of their stuff was indie too but not half as much as the PS4 but yo are entitled to be delusional.
