EA Confident They're Ready For Next-Gen
The next generation is just around the corner, and major publishers are getting ready.
EA boss Frank Gibeau says his company is definitely prepared for the next wave of video game hardware, although he admits EA made a few mistakes at the start of the current generation. During a recent Bloomberg interview, Gibeau talked about the future, and all the new stuff we'll be seeing from EA:
"We've already started three-to-five new intellectual properties that we're going to launch in that first 24 months on the new-gen. ...what I think what you have to first do is start with the technology and the hardware that is coming out – what it does really, really well – and understand what's gonna drive innovation there. You start from the game out and you build enough games and enough diversity in your brands to come out with a really strong portfolio that you can sustain for multiple years."
Gibeau added that the switch from standard to high-definition and the rapid expanse of online gaming made the last generation leap a tough one. But there may not be as many obstacles this time around, and EA is confident they'll continue to be a top publisher throughout the next generation. Well, tell DICE to get moving on another Mirror's Edge for the PS4/Xbox 720, and we'll be happy for now.

If they were a top publisher their stocks wouldn't be in a pretty much constant decline. That and most of the gaming population wouldn't hate them for butchering beloved franchises.

Also, in addition to Mirror's Edge, where's Dante's Purgatory? You can't just end it with 'to be continued' and not continue it...

but this time make it like the first, not the second one!
the second one was good, but i preferred the layout and mission design of the first.
so disappointed EA has not done a godfather 3 yet, the first 2 were such fun games!!!!!

the games though are far from being enjoyed because of their story!
they said right after 2 released that they wont be doing anymore because of licensing costs and the series not selling enough.
shame!
