Valiant Hearts: The Great War Announced For PS4, Xbox One

Every time I go to write the title of this game, I end up typing "Vandal Hearts." Yeah, remember that?

Anyway, Ubisoft has revealed Valiant Hearts: The Great War, a digital 2D platformer slated for current- and next-gen consoles, as well as the PC. The game is set to launch next year, and it's inspired by actual letters from World War I.

Ubisoft Montpelier (Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends) is utilizing the UbiArt Framework engine, which is also being used for Ubisoft's other promising project, Child of Light. Valiant Hearts is the story of four strangers who come together to help a young German soldier find love, and the narrative features "survival, sacrifice and friendship." There will be five playable characters, and we'll have to solve puzzles and sneak around behind enemy lines.

It looks like a really intriguing and original concept, and the blending of genres is always fun. Risky, but fun.

that was beautiful, i wonder how the actual game will play. As with any game, if its done right this should be quite enjoyable and even emotional

ubi art?
really?
oh please dont tell me this is another one of those deed dark gritty games with the artistic style of a freaking kids cartoon!
it just so spoils the mood of the game, i mean can you imagine hostel or saw with cell shaded graphics?
it just does not work!
please dont spoil this with something so silly and trivial as a basic art style!
