Analyst: Expect To See GTAV On PS4, Xbox One In 2014
Rockstar and Take-Two have said in the past that they have no plans to bring Grand Theft Auto V to next-gen consoles.
However, Robert W. Baird analyst Colin Sebastian believes otherwise. In a note to investors today, Sebastian said he fully expects to see the critically heralded title land on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2014. Excited much?
This would "help extend the value of the franchise," which makes perfect sense. Of course, it's hardly official until the developer or publisher confirms its existence, but it gives gamers hope, especially those who have already traded in their current consoles. As for the launch, GTAV netted $800 million in 24 hours, which Sebastian said qualifies as the "largest entertainment property launch in history."
Don't forget that the multiplayer component won't be available until October 1. ...as if that's any sort of detriment; the game is freakin' gigantic.
