Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments Now Headed To PS4

Now you can unravel some of the most dastardly, challenging mysteries while playing on your fancy new PlayStation 4.

Previously, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments was announced for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC; the game is slated to release in 2014. Now, however, it has been confirmed via press release that a PS4 version is also on the way.

The famed detective will lead "numerous original investigations in a variety of environments," and the new effort marks "the most important stage" in the ongoing series. Developer Frogwares Studios opted to switch from their in-house engine to Epic's Unreal Engine 3 so they could producer richer, more detailed environments and characters. Plus, they've created new investigation techniques to add depth to the gameplay; the game now offers a total of 14 mechanics. This includes the initial clue-finding right up until the arrest of the culprits.

If you're interested in playing catch-up, you might want to check out The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, which was decent, and provided puzzle and mystery lovers with a significant challenge.

Ripper and Testament were great. I expect the same with Crime and Punishment. The tech demo they showed a while back looked very good so I hope that it will help draw in some of the more graphically inclined gamers who may have passed on the previous games simply because of the aesthetics.

Testament has such bad controls I'm not sure if I'll ever get back to it, I hope this one does better in that arena. If so I will get it.

Testament was really enjoyable. Not top-notch. Didn't know this was coming. Might get it.

a murder mystery, FINALLY!
wish we had more types of games like this, its just something that would lend itself so well to a game.
you have a billion and one movies, a trillion and one on books, and a gazillion and one on TV shows, so why no games?
