CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 Likely Coming To PS4, Xbox One

Role-playing fans are anxiously awaiting CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but the developer is working on another intriguing project as well.

It's the previously announced Cyberpunk 2077 and business development manager Rafal Jaki told Polygon that "it's going really, really well" and in fact, "the stuff they've come up with is mind-blowing."

When the promising game was initially announced, it was only confirmed for PC. But in this new interview, Jaki said it should also be coming to next-gen consoles. When asked if Cyberpunk 2077 would eventually find its way to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, his answer was a little vague, but still encouraging:

"It most probably will be. But we can't confirm or deny because it's too early for that."

Right now, the 210 CD Projekt Red employees are split across three sectors: They've got over 100 people (the "red team") working on Wild Hunt, the "black team" is smaller and is cranking away on Cyberpunk 2077, and the final team is working on the studio's engine that will be used for both games. These guys should produce some very special results...

For me Cyberpunk 2077 is the most anticipated new IP of the entire upcoming generation.

Just imagine, the qualities of The Witcher combined with the intriguing world of Cyberpunk... Oh boy.

I'm looking forward to this a lot. CDProjekt is my favourite dev team right now.

My only question for this game is what kind of gameplay is going to be driving it? I've heard its turn based from some, a shooter from others, but I haven't found anything conclusive.

Does anyone know?

I'd be shocked if a western RPG was turn based.

So would I World. I have a feeling it will be either an Action RPG, or something similar to fallout threes VATS(spell check?) system thingy.

Considering that Witcher 3 is, I thought it was a given. I'm looking forward to this one more than Wild Hunt, though, simply because I haven't played the earlier Witcher games, so I feel as though I'll be missing something jumping into the third and I hate that feeling.

I know what you mean. I beat The Witcher Enhanced Edition on PC and loved it. I heard The Witcher 2 was even better but I haven't played it yet. I was always holding out that the PS3/PS4 would get The Witcher 2 as well. I may have to dust off my Steam account credentials!

Love these guys, they know how to cater to the gamer! I also heard that The Witcher 3 will be released as a full complete game. Meaning, no DLC or any post production fluff. I hope this is the case. A 2014 game being released without DLC!!! That is truly note worthy and just over simplifies my decision to purchase The Witcher 3 on the PS4 D1. I mean seriously, I would have bought it either way.

Any DLC they do make will be free probably. They updated and patched the crap out of The Witcher 2 because they believe that that is their duty as a developer.

oh god no, keep it pc exclusive!
come on were WELL overdue our next crysis!
i really wanna see what a game can do if it was specifically designed for high end PCs, enough of pc constantly being held back by crummy consoles!
exactly why next gen consoles are so disappointing, i thought the days of being held back were over!
