PS4 Controllers Evidently Hit Canada Early

Does this mean you'll be seeing the Dual Shock 4 in a store near you well before November 15?

According to a Reddit user (as cited by Polygon), controllers for the upcoming PlayStation 4 are already hitting game stores in Canada.

The pic you see through the link clearly shows a bunch of Dual Shock 4 controllers in an EB Games outlet. We can't really tell if they're immediately available to purchase (they're not in the US just yet), but you can definitely see that touch pad in the middle. Still not sure about that feature... Anyway, here's hoping there's enough supply to meet demand in November, when the PS4 launches. Most GameStops around me said they were only going to get a small number of Dual Shock 4s on launch day, and couldn't even guarantee my extra pre-ordered one at that time.

Therefore, if those controllers aren't already spoken for in that pic, maybe it means the supply will be okay.

If they stopped making games for the PS3 today, I would still have a back log until late 2014. So a shortage of PS4s would give me an excuse to wait.

Actually you bring up an excellent idea Ben, start selling the controllers before the system launches to generate even more hype :)

Hey Ben, noticed a typo, should be EB Games, not EG Games.

Didn't see one today. Just a crusty used Deluxe Wii U with one of those portable screens.

Oh wow.

I seen a picture of the DS4 sitting in a store in Europe, and when I seen the blister packaging I nearly threw up. I thought it was maybe some cheap knock-off, but it obviously isn't.

Blister packing Sony..... Really?!

ironic, and all the rumors going around that there was going to be extreme shortages at launch.
kinda pointless buying the controller when you still have 3 or so weeks to wait till you an get the system to use it on.
shame the colored controllers are not releasing till feb next year i really want the blue one.
hopefully $ony will give us some colored consoles to go with them.

so since we are talking about controllers, thought i would throw this tip out there to everyone.

i tend to buy my controllers at best buy. reason for this is they offer a warranty for about $12. when this comes in really handy is when you have another controller at home that is messed up and out of warranty. sony does warranty controllers for a year. ive had buttons jam under heavy use.

its a 2 year warranty also so you have 2 years to get a new one. no questions asked. so if you have a broken one at home take it back in later on and get 2 controllers for the price of one.

Can confirm that this is true, being a Canadian with access to an EB Games nearby.
As far as I can tell, they are fully available for purchase. You just walk in, take it off the shelf, and buy. Like any normal accessory.

I asked the clerk why they were doing this so early, and they said it was some kind of error with upper management, and that they were unable to take the controllers down until the order is reissued to them.
The guy I talked with said he doubts they'll still be on the shelves by this time next week.
