GameStop: On Average, PS4 Pre-Orders Outstrip Xbox One
It's the million-dollar question: Which next-gen system has obtained more pre-orders?
Well, for GameStop, it's definitely the PlayStation 4. During a recent AMA at Reddit, a GameStop manager commented on the pre-order tally for the retailer.
After first confirming that his store had 150 PS4 pre-orders as opposed to only 30 Xbox One pre-orders, Reddit user "kilogttam" said he keeps seeing people reporting around "3x as many PS4 pre-orders as Xbox One." To that, the manager replied:
"Yupp, the only store I saw with more XBone pre orders than PS4 was a mall store, had like 110 PS4 and 115 Xbone. Otherwise on average, there are a decent amount more PS4 pre orders."
He later clarified that the average was not 150-30, as it is in his store, but he has only heard of a few stores that have brought in more Xbox One pre-orders and even then, it's by a slim margin. I wonder how many pre-orders Microsoft would've gotten had they not reversed the policies that everyone hated when the system was first revealed. And it appears they haven't yet fully recovered from that fiasco...
