What Franchise Deserves A Resurrection Next Generation?
We're all quite familiar with the big-name franchises of the current generation. And one has to assume most all of them will continue on in when the next era begins.
But what is a seemingly dead franchise that you'd most like to see return? What deserves a resurrection after so many years of lying dormant? I heard someone mention Dino Crisis a few days ago and that got me thinking...
For me, even though I'm relatively convinced Konami would completely screw it up, I want a full-fledged Suikoden VI for the PlayStation 4. Yeah, a turn-based RPG. But of course, that's probably a pipe dream because A. Turn-based doesn't exist on consoles anymore, and 2. JRPGs are on the decline in terms of popularity and quality, and are probably last on the priority list of a company like Konami. But even if they had to put it on the Vita or something, provided it remained turn-based, Suikoden VI would so be mine. It's the second-best role-playing franchise of all time next to Final Fantasy; I will always maintain that.
A few other franchises I miss are Jet Moto and Legaia, although I'm sure they're deader than ever. I'd also pine for a Legend of Dragoon sequel if that would do any good, and I have a soft spot for Alundra. That isn't a series but there's just something about that top-down, Zelda-like style that I really miss, and I can't really find today. 3D Dot Game Heroes was kinda close, but... So what about you?
