PS4 Tops 1 Million Sold In 24 Hours
Sony believes they'll sell 5 million PlayStation 4 units worldwide before the end of the company's fiscal year (March 31, 2014).
Well, they're not off to a bad start. Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) has announced that 1 million PS4 units have been sold in the US and Canada. That number was reached within the first 24 hours of the new system's availability.
Said SCEI President and Group CEO Andrew House:
"PS4™ was designed with an unwavering commitment to gamers, and we are thrilled that consumer reaction has been so phenomenal. Sales remain very strong in North America, and we expect continued enthusiasm as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29. We are extremely grateful for the passion of PlayStation fans and thank them for their continued support."
Despite growing reports of hardware and PlayStation Network issues, the majority of PS4 owners seem to be satisfied with their purchase. And if those problems are resolved relatively quickly and Sony's latest console has a great holiday season, then Sony should be able to hit their fiscal sales projections. Wonder how many years the PS4 will be around...another decade? Got yours yet?
