PS4 Euro Launch: PSN Prices Have Yet To Be Finalized

Don't worry, those prices aren't finalized just yet.

When consumers caught sight of some of the digital PlayStation Network prices they can expect to see when the PlayStation 4 launches in Europe, they were a tad frightened. Some of the prices seemed quite...high.

However, as various reports have confirmed (including this one from G4mers.pl), the prices are not yet final. Therefore, before the system is available in the European region on November 29, you should see many prices fall. That's good news because negative headlines were already starting to make the rounds; Euro gamers weren't too happy with those digital price tags.

The PS4 is expected to perform pretty well in the European territories, as PlayStation has historically been pretty popular across the pond. The fact that Sony's new machine sold over 1 million machines in less than 24 hours in the US alone is impressive.

I wouldn't have been surprised as the PS3 games on PSN are more expensive than their highstreet versions.

When you say high, how high?
At the moment, most PS3 games in the highstreet retail at £40-$44. and the PS4 games at £50 to £55

I agree, that's what i think exactly, why are the digital versions equal or even more expensive?they should be cheaper right?i mean no disc/box costs no shops between sony and the consumer, the digital ones should have been cheaper!

They want to keep their retail partners happy, one way to do that is not to undercut them on price.
