Deep Down: New Info And Screens

Deep Down remains one of the most anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives on the horizon.

And Capcom has delivered a bit more information, including new screenshots and details. As summarized at DualShockers, there's fresh info and new artwork inspired by 15th century armor. Looks freakin' cool!

Players will access various dungeons by touching one of several stone statues in the game. They will appear in that dungeon equipped with the correct armor stored in the corresponding statue, and each suit of armor has different parts; arms and head, for instance. Furthermore, various combinations of those parts will give the character different skills, so get ready for some experimentation.

This is starting to remind me of Vagrant Story in terms of the medieval theme. It won't play the same way, of course, but it seems the similarities are there. We need more games with such a setting.

The gameplay appears to be attempting to make a medieval style fantasy game into a shooter. Could be interesting but as F2p it's N4M anyway.

AS Yoshida said Microtransactions are not a bad thing, they are only for people who are busy.

Those are PR statements, not to be confused with reality.

Have you played Warframe World? I felt the same as you about Free-to-play titles but Warframe has me thinking differently these days. It's a fantastic title! I'm far more optimistic about Deep Down thanks to Warframe.

Dustin, Warframe is decent in its model, but after a while you are going to find that it is a huge grind to unlock and craft the different guns and warframes.

Then if you want to buy them its like 5 bucks per warframe at least, some are more.

Its a fun game and there is no pay wall but the game does become a grind because of the model they are using.

Naw I haven't. People do say it's awesome, I just never feel like I'm playing a complete game with these things since, if I was willing to pay endless amounts, I'd be having much more fun.

... So what you're saying is that there is no permanent equipping of our characters, but we are temporarily handed out a fixed set of armor items for each individual dungeon/quest?

That sounds... Dull?

Agreed, Beamboom. Might try it out if it's free. They should have made another Dragon's Dogma.

1. I don't trust Capcom with anything other than Street Fighter.

2. I'll stick with Dark Souls 2.

Trust is what allows us to have meaningful relationships with other people; without it, we cannot converse without wondering whether the person speaks truthfully.Without any trust at all, however, life becomes quite lonely.
