Pachter: PS4 Outsold Xbox One In US During November
One has to factor in the extra week of availability for the PlayStation 4, but it's still promising for Sony.
Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter talked about the projected sales of the PS4 and Xbox One during a 2013 NPD Preview Report (as cited at VideoGamer).
He believes the PS4 sold around 1.25 million units in the US during the month of November, while the Xbox One sold about 750,000. The PS4 launched in this region on November 15 and Sony revealed that worldwide sales of the system had surpassed 2.1 million as of December 1. At the time, they said around 700,000 had been sold in North America. As for Microsoft's console, the Xbox One launched in 13 territories on November 22 and we received a sold-through number of over 1 million units at launch.
As for the Wii U, analysts are expecting disappointing sales of 150,000 in the US, while the Xbox 360 once again outsold the PS3; 700,000 to 550,000. If the Xbox One continues to be more available than the PS4 in this country during the month of December, Sony's lead may shrink, but here's hoping retailers receive regular shipments.
