Most Wished For: Xbox One Tops, PS4 Second, Wii U 37th

The "most wished for" gaming-related item according to Amazon.com?

Well, it's very close, but for the time being, it's the Xbox One. As reported by DualShockers, Microsoft's console tops the "most wished for" list, while Sony's PlayStation 4 is second.

For the record, the poor Wii U is way down at #37 while the PlayStation Vita is even lower at #39. The Xbox 360 comes in at #51 with its Holiday Value Bundle, while the PS3 is down at #100 with the 500GB Grand Theft Auto V package. The 3DS isn't on there, which is a little strange but hey, maybe the Vita is coming up in the world. As you might expect, because only a few people have the PS4 and Xbox One right now (relatively speaking), the next-gen versions of games aren't jumping off the "most wished for" charts.

Will the PS4 ultimately sell more than the Xbox One during the holiday season? Worldwide, sure. In this country...we'll see.

so I saw a guy carrying in an Xbox One back to a store, I stopped and asked him, "hey, is it broke?"
he said, "nah, I'm just going to stick with the PS4"
I gave him an enthusiastic response of approval.

How is the 3DS not on there? Maybe because everyone already has one?

really?
wow thats a surprise, i would of thought the ps4 would be on top.
especially with the difficulty people have been having finding available stock.
funny, $ony confirmed today we wont be seeing any stock till end of feb!
figures, US gets multiple shipments weeks after launch, and we gave to wait till the end of feb!
what else can i say besides typical $ony?

The week before the Wii U came out, somebody on the IGN forums took a poll asking how many people were going to buy it. 40% said they were definitely getting one at launch. Judging by the sales figures I think that turned out to be more like 4%.

The moral of the story being: wishing and buying are two entirely different things.

I'm assuming this is just in the U.S.? If so, it isn't surprising considering all the support it gets here.

The good news for PS4 is that there are three PS4 bundles in the top 40 wished for items compared to two Xbox One bundles. The Launch Day edition Xbox One is still on the list and I'm not even sure if that is a relevant bundle any longer.

My thoughts...it's simple math. Sony held the number one spot pre-launch. Sony sold more PS4s than MS sold Xbox Ones. If you have a new console, would it still be on your wish list?

Microsoft probably had a company wide meeting and told all their employees to go on Amazon and make a wishlist. The end.

In other hand, ps4 is number 1 in Amazon UK!

Btw: it's funny that in amazon US ps4 have 4000+ reviews and X-ONE only have 454... That's a big diference!!

I have a wish list on Amazon on games I most likely won't buy from there. So I don't take much notice from this wish list. Probably most likely the majority of the people who added the xbone to their wish list are playing on their PS4
