PSP Firmware 3.90 Enables Skype
Last year was big for the PSP, as Sony's sleek little handheld not only received plenty of great software, but a hardware redesign that sparked a major sales surge. The new PSP Lite (PSP-2000) is slimmer, lighter, and now, officially has Skype capability.
Rumors of the Internet communication feature coming to the PSP popped up earlier this month, and it was officially confirmed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008. They say that over 246 million people worldwide are already Skype users, so to have this new functionality included in the PSP is a big plus. It will be added to your handheld when you download firmware update 3.90, which also features additional PlayStation Network titles for your perusal. Just remember- Skype is only available to those who own the new PSP; the PSP Lite. Sony has said there simply wasn't enough memory in the PSP-1000 to support it, so this may be another incentive for you to pick up the revamped handheld.
There are more firmware updates on the way for the PSP, too, so stay tuned. Sony clearly wants to continue to expand the functionality of both the PSP and PS3, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in 2008...

It would certainly be neat to see this in action.
