Sony: "Very Strong" PSP Titles For 2008
Perhaps you hadn't noticed, but the PSP is really on a roll lately. Ever since the redesigned model - slimmer and lighter - dropped last year, Sony has been reaping the rewards of better hardware and, more importantly, better software.
Don't think the handheld has peaked, either. According to GamePro and SCEA senior marketing manager, John Koller, "a lot of very strong PSP titles are coming in late 2008." We've already seen the likes of Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Patapon and the amazing God of War: Chains of Olympus, and future blockbusters like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Secret Agent Clank are on the way. But Koller is referring to even more great games towards the end of the year, and while he didn't name any, he did say that some would be "very unique" while others would be "franchise umbrellas." But when it comes to the PlayStation brand, it doesn't end there in 2008.
Koller also emphasized how important the PlayStation Store will be to both the PS3 and PSP, and the latter machine will get some new peripherals this year as well. We're talking about a keyboard, camera, and the North American arrival of the GPS add-on. We just can't wait to hear more about those promising titles, and when we do, we'll clue you in ASAP.

Not to beat on the PS3, but I have to turn to the PSP now for my RPG fix. (I still feel that the PSP is the legitimate successor to the PS2.)
