Sony Ericsson PSP Mobile Phone: Rumored Specs
See Full ImageThe PSP phone is a concept that has been around for quite some time, and while we've had so-called announcements and revealings, Sony has debunked them every time. However, with E3 right around the corner, it is possible that Sony may be set to unveil this little beauty, known as the Sony Ericsson PSP Mobile Phone.
As you can see by this link to UberGizmo, a spec sheet for this unit has been discovered, and it boasts a goodly assortment of nifty features. You can click on the scanned photo they provided, but here's a quick look at some of the bulleted details on the list:
- 4.3" 16:9 widescreen TFT LCD display at 480 x 272 pixels and 16.77 million colors
- 2 megapixel camera
- Built-in web browser
- Built-in podcasting
- Flight mode
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Memory Stick Micro/microSD memory card slot
- Streaming audio/video
- Video calling
- Speakerphone
- Alarm clock, calculator, calendar, other PIM functions
- Picture Messaging (MMS)
- Text Messaging (SMS)
- Java
It's probably just an idea that someone with too much time on their hands dreamed up, but it's interesting to see such a diverse little unit. The only other note of interest involves the battery life, which supposedly sits at about 5 hours for game time. ...not sure if that's something people will be happy with. Anyway, at some point in the very near future, we expect Sony to step up and say, "aw, isn't that a nice idea? Too bad it's not real." Or, just maybe, they've got the Sony Ericsson PSP Mobile Phone on their super secret E3 list...

Sony would want to hurt the iPhone and its game application so the iphone will have less of a chance of becoming more popular with its games. The PSP phone with Sony's game franchises and from 3rd party, also it probably be more of a dedicated gaming phone more than the iPhone, and I imagine the gfx wil be allot better. The PSP phone will crush the iPhone.
I would like it to have a 5 megapixel camera with flash and 3x optical zoom (push for 5x would be nice) and please make a better quality camera this time with carl zeiss lenses not like the poor cybershot phones like I have. Might be best camera phone on the market but not good quality compared to digital cameras (which all are much better but not that great with their background noise)
