Sony To Use GPS In PSP Games?
Along with the great software recently, Sony is really working to make their sleek handheld niftier and niftier and niftier.
As the MTV Multiplayer blog reports, Sony plans to launch a GPS add-on for the PSP in early 2009, which some of us already knew. But what we didn't know is that they plan to issue gaming applications along with it! During an E3 interview, Sony's senior marketing manager for the PSP, John Koller, sounded quite enthusiastic about the prospect:
"That's [GPS] going to be a big one for us. It changes the dynamics of GPS but also changes the way developers think about games on PSP because you can start integrating GPS into it."
Koller elaborated by saying Sony will begin "shopping the GPS add-on to publishers this year," and that they're starting to consider different ways of implementing this new feature into games. Koller said Sony is "trying to look at different options," and we can imagine the brain-busting going on over this; just imagine the possibilities? Some of them may turn out to be lame and even pointless, but we're talking about major innovation in the realm of portable software. Well, potentially. We'll keep you updated on any news regarding this subject, just because we imagine it's in the interest of many PSP owners.
