Breaking News: SCEA Reveals PSP-3000 Bundles For U.S.
Yep, part 2 of the Breaking News ('cuz we got these two press releases simultaneously from SCEA).
The first big news at Sony's press conference today in Leipzig was the announcement of the new PSP-3000, which will have an "enhanced LCD" screen and what SCEA just now called a "wider color gamut and anti-reflection technology." This is coming to North America as well, and like that 160GB PS3 Uncharted bundle, this new PSP will also be introduced with the previously announced Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters PSP bundle on October 14. This will feature a special Mystic Silver PSP, "National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets" UMD movie, 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, and a PlayStation Network voucher for echochrome. In addition, Sony is preparing another bundle - the 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack - that will feature the update PSP, a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, and a PlayStation Network voucher to download Everyday Shooter.
"As we head into the holiday shopping season, both of these new Entertainment Packs represent a significant value for gift-givers, combining the updated PSP and its enhanced screen with content that showcases the PSP's gaming and entertainment functionality," said Peter Dille, senior vice president, marketing and PLAYSTATION Network, SCEA. "The 4GB Memory bundle is geared toward the digital entertainment enthusiast who likes to bring their media files on-the-go and download content from the PLAYSTATION Network. The Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters bundle is a great family-friendly option centered on one of the most beloved PlayStation franchises."
Both bundles will hold the retail price tag of $199.99, and if you don't already have one, you have few excuses left. This fall, Sony is going to make their snazzy handheld a great deal more attractive!

These new features? They're just a smokescreen. Sony's tired of not being able to make people pay for everything that goes on it, and it can only get worse from here.
