Phantasy Star Portable Releasing In Europe Spring 2009
Hey, Japanese gamers aren't the only ones out there who like in-depth RPGs, right? We're willing to bet there are plenty of fans in the UK, so this is good news.
According to Electronic Theatre, Sega of Europe has officially announced that Phantasy Star Portable will be headed to the PSP in European regions. It'll be a great addition to the already-hefty RPG lineup on Sony's handheld, and European Marketing Director for Sega Europe, Gary Knight, had this to say:
"The Phantasy Star Universe series offered a compelling role-play experience with excellent Multi-Player Modes in delightful atmospheres. These aspects are represented authentically in Phantasy Star Portable, including exclusive new features just for the PSP version allowing fans of this series to enjoy the quest on the move."
Yep, this cooperative-based RPG is one that'll keep you entertained for hours on end. There are over 150 new weapons and items to find in this sequel (it takes place after the events of Phantasy Star Universe), and your partner-in-crime this time around will be Vivienne. You may choose from 3 Class types and 4 Races before you begin your long adventure, and if the single-player mode isn't enough for you, there's always the co-op multiplayer gameplay, a long-time staple of the franchise. The game will support up to four players via PSP wireless connection, so your friends don't have to miss out on the action.
Phantasy Star Portable will be available in Europe some time in the spring of 2009. As soon as they can nail down an exact date, we'll let you know.
