Kojima Not Directing Rising, Only "Fully Involved" With PSP MGS
We get the feeling that Konami and Hideo Kojima have been at odds concerning targeted platforms. Something tells us that Konami has been begging Kojima to bring his famed Metal Gear Solid franchise to the Xbox 360, despite the boss' protests.
Kojima has said many times in the past that he wants to stick with the PlayStation platform for this legendary titles, and the latest bit of info may hint at his belief. As you know by now, Metal Gear Solid: Rising has been announced for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker was revealed yesterday for the PSP. Now, according to GameZine, which cited a recent Famitsu interview, Kojima won't be directing Rising and he's concentrating on Peace Walker. He said he's only "fully involved" with the PSP game, where he's acting as "director, producer and game designer" and actually calls Peace Walker the "Metal Gear Solid 5 inside me." As for Rising, he said:
"I'm not the director. I'm not doing game design either. Although, I do issue complaints (laughs). But, not too much."
This may be an indication of Kojima's loyalty to Sony, despite the current times dictating a necessary shift for Konami. One can interpret this in a variety of ways but it's easy to come to such a conclusion, given Kojima's history. Well, what do you think?
