Polyphony Wants To Attract New Fans With Gran Turismo PSP
It's known only as "Gran Turismo" or, if you want to differentiate it from the original PlayStation title, "Gran Turismo PSP."
Maybe some of you are wondering why series creator Kazunori Yamauchi decided on such a bland title for this new portable entry in the legendary series (the first on a handheld, we remind you). Well, according to Kotaku, it's because Polyphony wants to target new players in a new generation. They want to appeal to those who may be reluctant to suddenly dive into a decade-old series and they want a whole new group of racing fans to gain an interest, to "experience the thrill of learning how to drive." In the past, Yamauchi said he considered other names for this portable iteration, including Gran Turismo Portable and Gran Turismo Spyder, but he didn't want to make everyone think it "was anything less than a fully-specced Gran Turismo." So that's the reason for the name, and it's clear that with such a project, Polyphony wants to drag in a whole host of new gamers that have never participated in the "ultimate driving experience" before. And you know what we say to that? Welcome to the party!
Not surprisingly, the game should look amazing when it finally releases, and that's when you can embark on your portable racing simulation entertainment. You'll love it, we promise.

I'm really curious how the PSP GT and the PS3 GT5 are going to interact wtih one another. I can't wait to start unlocking cars. 800 on the PSP alone...Wow...just Wow.
