Metal Gear Solid: Rising Disappears Until E3 2010
It was the shocker of Microsoft's E3 press conference: Metal Gear Solid: Rising is coming to the Xbox 360.
Of course, since then, the announcement has been downplayed due to some new evidence. Firstly, Hideo Kojima has said he has virtually no involvement with the new title (he's only acting as producer), and in truth, the "Metal Gear Solid 5 within him" is the freshly revealed Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP. For the latter, Kojima is indeed a big part of the production; he's directing it and he wrote the script. Now, according to PS3Center citing a Kojima interview in the latest Famitsu publication, Rising may fall out of the limelight for quite some time. Apparently, Kojima said you won't hear anything more of the game until next year's E3 and in the meantime, the team will be focusing on the aforementioned Peace Walker, Metal Gear Solid: Arcade and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. This may sting for MGS fans, especially for all those 360 owners who finally had something to brag about (despite the fact that Rising is also coming to the PS3). But it seems Microsoft wanted to get that big announcement into this year's show, just so we have something to talk about for another year.
Of course, we do expect to hear snippets of information concerning Rising; this be the Internet, and it's kinda tough to keep everything under wraps for extended periods of time. And if something does leak out, we'll make sure to bring you the valuable info.
