Persona Remake For PSP Announced
Role-playing veterans may remember the original Persona for the first PlayStation; it was a unique and mostly rewarding experience. But if you missed it, Atlus is giving you a second chance to play it...in a handheld format.
Atlus has announced that Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is coming to the PSP this September. It's a remake of the original title on the PlayStation, and it will feature "a completely redone localization and content never before seen in North America." They also tout some new gameplay enhancements and additions, so it should be a fantastic addition to the PSP's library. But wait, there's more. We're talking about Atlus, who routinely rewards their loyal following of fans, so should it surprise you that launch copies of this remake will include a special bonus? That bonus will be a two-disc soundtrack CD that contains all the music from the game, and that includes new tracks that weren't in the original title. All in all, this is great news for RPG fans everywhere, especially if you missed out on the start of this critically acclaimed franchise. Since its inception, things have gotten a little complicated as the SMT series has really branched out. But you can bet that if "Shin Megami Tensei" is in the title, it's likely to be a top-quality - and highly original - game that is perfect for the niche RPG crowd. Are you a member?
Some say we get too many remakes these days but we say, if there's all that extra content and a bunch of enhancements, what's the problem? It's not like developers and publishers go out of their way to remake crappy games. That'd just be silly.
