Naughty Dog: Uncharted Won't Go Portable On PSP
These days, many of the biggest titles on consoles somehow find a way to go portable on the PSP. In the future, you can expect big games like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Assassin's Creed and Gran Turismo.
But one big-name title that won't hit the handheld universe is Uncharted. According to ThatVideoGame Blog, Naughty Dog's Evan Wells said he has no intention of bringing Drake and Co. to the PSP Go (hey, that rhymes), which may come as sour news to those who love their portable gaming. Of course, one can always turn to the aforementioned titles - and let's not forget LittleBigPlanet - for their handheld fix, and in all honesty, Uncharted is something that should indeed remain on the PlayStation 3. We've already said that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the best-looking console game we've ever seen, and although we could accept the required visual decrease in order to make an installment for the PSP, we wouldn't necessarily want it. Let's face it- graphics do play a large role, especially when it comes to certain titles, and I think we all remember how gorgeous Drake's Fortune was. Just wait until you see the finalized sequel, too...it's gonna blow you away.
So although we always support the addition of great new games for the PSP, this is one instance where we have to agree with the developer. Nathan Drake can just stay where he is.

Was it just me or did it look really good/fun at the E3 presentation.
I know that it was only for a few minutes. But it looked just like the old Jak games, which is a great thing.
I really don't mind/care 'bout Uncharted going to psp. That game looks insane on ps3....

If Naughty Dog chose to make it portable...it would be sort of hurtful(is that even a word?) for the franchise. And I'm saying that as a BIG PSP LOVER and one that is impressed by Uncharted, even if he loves Jak and Daxter better...
I mean the graphics...will of course be downgraded, the physics won't be as smooth, there won't be as much intense action...and if there was expect to see the greatest DROP in FRAMERATE in PSP HISTORY, and also...considering there's one analog stick...how in the world would it work?! Automatic aim?! Sorry...that's just not Uncharted.

I know people say graphics don't matter! But come on! There are games out there were the graphics matter almost as much as the game play. Games like MGS4, RE5, KZ2, and Uncharted are some of the best examples.
The awesome graphics let you get lost in the world. It truly makes it an experience.

Graphics being for youngsters is true to an extent, but then if they don't matter, why keep making new systems?
I also prefer playing on my TV, but the PSP is great for getting really lost in a story. When Crisis Core came out, I would be in my room all dark, with my headphones on and just got lost in that lil' screen.

I'm simply old (late 20's) and I still regard Super Mario Bros. 3 as one of my favorite games of all time. The graphics don't matter, it's the game play.
Game play is more important than graphics, even the games of today will one day be looked at as nothing more than a reminder of old technology and bad graphics. The games that hold up through the years all have one important thing in common, amazing game play.

But I've had convos with other people who just sound like they are saying it to sound cool.
I know what you mean. Of course game play comes first, but graphics are becoming so good that they are actually part of what makes the game play fun. Uncharted was so fun because of the presentation. It just felt like you were actually controlling a character in a movie.
You just couldn't recreate that experience in 32-bit.
I also disagree that games like KZ2, Uncharted and MGS4 will be looked at as having bad graphics. We do that nowadays because the games of yesterday looked horrible! They looked nothing like what real people, environments look like. But now games like KZ2 resemble real life. I bet games will look downright amazing in 20 years, but I'm sure KZ2 will still look great in 10 years.
We're just at that point were the games that come out now will have graphics that will last far longer than older ones.
