SCEJ Announces PlayStation Portable New Hunters Pack
It's true that most Monster Hunter fans seem to reside in Japan, which is why Sony and Capcom have come together to deliver a couple gifts to those who have made the franchise such a huge success.
As Andriasang reports, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has announced the PlayStation Portable New Hunters Pack, which comes in either Radiant Red or Vibrant Blue. They're set to release on July 23 with a price of 21,000 yen; each package will boast the specially decorated PSP-3000 unit, a copy of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G (known as Monster Hunter Freedom Unite in this country), an AC adapter and a battery pack. If you're wondering why this game gets such special treatment, you clearly haven't been paying attention to sales charts from Japan. This title is routinely in the top 10 week in and week out and it has helped Monster Hunter become one of the most lucrative franchises in the entire industry. Of course, North Americans and Europeans don't flock to the games nearly as much, which is why you had best import one of these nice packages if you're interested. Waiting will get you nowhere. Even so, we would like to say that we get plenty of cool PSP bundles; there are many examples in the past year, and you can bet Sony will build PSP bundles around something like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker...
So anyway, not to torture you or anything, but these Monster Hunter packages are sweet. See what happens if you reward a publisher? They'll often repay the favor.

5 hours to kill... I use my PSP a lot less now that I don't travel as much as I used to :-(
I have always been curious about Monster Hunter... I'll try and find a used PS2 copy and see how it plays.
