Kojima: Peace Walker And Rising Teams At Odds
As Kojima Productions tackles two big projects - Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP and Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - we've been wondering how the split team feels about each other.
Well, it seems there's a bit of jealousy coming from the Peace Walker camp, as according to the boss man himself, the Rising staff has "all the money and specs" to work with. During a recent GamePro interview with Hideo Kojima, we get some interesting behind-the-scenes information.
"The core of it is, of course, the Rising team. So they're doing a lot of high-level stuff with great staffs. And that doesn't mean the guys who are making PSP are the shi**y staffs...it's not that. However, we have the core team who is doing real high-level experiments and alongside we have the PSP team, which are not really good friends right now, but in Kojima Productions and with Rising that is what's happening right now.
The reason why I say they are not good friends is because the PSP is working day and night to make it even better than MGS4, but of course they can't do it because of a lot of restrictions. On the other hand, the Rising team is using loads of money and loads of capacity and hardware specs. If you could imagine the PSP team looking at the Rising team saying, they have all the money and specs. That's the one reason why they are not good friends."
Well, from our standpoint, Kojima can do no wrong...even when he has to deal with two separate teams on two separate - and very different - projects. Some may worry that they're spreading themselves a little thin, but the day Kojima releases a game he's not entirely happy with is the day we see a crappy Gran Turismo installment. Yeah, that's never.

Well, there's always a first time, and although I don't need to say it, with Kojima, they'll do fine. Even if it's not 100% fine like they're always used to, they'll still be fine.

Reason being: Raiden is no SNAKE, as simple as that. I dont want to see a MGS without a Snake. MGS2 would not be as good if there was only Raiden and no Snake, would it?

But with Kojima making statements about how Peace Walker is like a MGS5, and how he's deeply involved with the project, it's not a large jump to assume it will be the better game.

In MGS4 if i remember correctly, the game splited to 5 install.
so in Rising, Konami can just make the game in multiple dvd.
Lost Odyssey already in 4 DVD, and changing disc is not a hard thing to do.
i really OK even if Rising came in 5 DVD.

btw kojima was dissapointed on MGS4 final release graphic quality. because on the tech demo MGS4 is a lot more awesome, the debris the dusts, and run @ 60fps.
i think kojima can try making game for PC. thats will eliminate the hardware performance limitation. or atleast release games in multiplatform including PC. so the console get the normal version and the PC get the highest quality version just as what kojima wanted.
