LotR: Aragorn's Quest Revealed As A Move Launch Title

Now that the PlayStation Move has been officially announced, we'll start seeing some compatible software.

Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, The Saul Zaentz Company and New Line Productions, Inc. have revealed that The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest will launch for the PlayStation 3 "with full support for PlayStation's upcoming motion controller technology at the controller's launch." Described as a "family-friendly" action/adventure title and based on the films by Peter Jackson and the books by J.R.R. Tolkien, the promising, colorful, hopefully entertaining quest will release in Fall 2010 for the PS3 as well as the PSP, PS2, Wii and DS. Obviously, you will step into the shoes of the legendary Ranger, where you will "relive his most daring battles from 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy." Aragorn can use his sword and bow and yes, he'll even ride about on his horse, so it'll feel pretty darn authentic for the younger crowd. As for the motion controller, we'll be able to try two-player co-op (the second character will be Gandalf) and view our precise weapon strikes - made with our hands and wrists - on screen.

The game will also have the benefit of voice actors Sean Astin ("The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "Goonies," "Rudy") and John Rhys-Davies ("Indiana Jones," "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy). As fans know, Astin played Samwise Gamgee and Rhys-Davies played Gimli. Lastly, the game will feature music scores from the movies, to give us a real sense of immersion in the epic adventure. Expect to see more Move-compatible software as the year progresses.
