PSP News: Sony Announces Kingdom of Paradise RPG

Sony Announces Kingdom of Paradise RPG

Sony Computer Entertainment America officially announced today that it would be publishing Kingdom of Paradise, an action Role-Playing Game for the PSP, in North America this coming November.

Kingdom of Paradise was just recently released in Japan under the title "Tenchi No Mon." Some of you may recall that last month PSX Extreme posted impressions of the game based on a demo we received. In that write-up, we expressed hope that Sony would localize and publish the game in English. It seems our hopes are coming true.

In Kingdom of Paradise, players take the role of a young warrior outcast named Shinbu. When one of the five martial clans attempts to disrupt a peaceful balance of power within the land of Ohka, Shinbu becomes determined to defend his clan and restore equal power to the five clans that once ruled the world. Set in a vast, living world, players will develop their sword fighting skills as they explore active environments in a crusade to defeat an evil clan.

Kingdom of Paradise features a flexible system of customizing moves and combos, where players collect scrolls to increase skills and create more than 150 unique sword attack styles throughout the game. Players will be able to exchange custom-created sword skills with friends and engage in one-on-one fighting action via Ad Hoc mode. Special defensive items, skills, and an exclusive new sword are available to download through Infrastructure mode. With character design by Korean animator Ko Jinho, Kingdom of Paradise incorporates storybook lands and awe-inspiring creatures in an epic tale encompassing five interactive worlds.
