PSP Go Receives $50 Price Cut
Well, the rumors were true. Now the question is whether or not it's enough to tempt the holiday shopper.
The PSP Go, now labeled as an "experiment" by Sony, was criticized for being too expensive and now, Sony has announced they will drop the price of the all-digital portable unit in both Japan and the US. Multiple retailers have listed the handheld with the new $199.99 price tag; a $50 price reduction. Now, that may not be enough in the eyes of some, but bear in mind that it's only $30 more expensive than the current PSP (PSP-3000), so that's something to consider if you're looking to make a handheld purchase. The PSP Go hasn't performed very well since its launch (although we don't have exact sales numbers from the NPD Group) and it's clear Sony is looking forward to the PSP2. We're still waiting to get a confirmation on the official sequel to Sony's first foray into the portable realm; recent rumors say the PSP2 is already circulating amongst select developers. At this point, we assume it'll be on store shelves for fall (holiday) 2011.
But if you don't wish to wait and you have a thing for gadgets, maybe the $200 PSP Go is right up your alley.

I won't get the Go, but I am fixed on the PSP2. If the PSP2 has a price tag less then $200, I'll be picking it up.
The PSP go is still a good seal, I think(know) what hurt it was that you couldn't use your UMD disk games.
PSP2 will take care of everything and deliver so much more. like I said before, It's time the D.S dies

ok, so now its just 400 bucks overpriced!
assuming it got a 50 dollar reduction here.
how can this be 100 bucks dearer than the 3000?
i thought you were suppose to pay less for less, not more for less!
smaller screen, no UMD drive yet everything else is the same and its 100 bucks dearer.
go figure!
no wonder its tanked!
no games, ridiculously overpriced.
yup, sony really know how to sell a product!
maybe they should consider that offer from apple.........
