Sega Reveals Flood Of Valkyria Chronicles 3 Details

All sorts of details for Valkyria Chronicles 3 have popped up today. Fans of the series ought to be interested.

Sega has revealed the character growth system, troop classes, potential and master tables, special abilities, and more. VC3 has the same 5 troop classes we had in the sequel: Scouts, Shocktroopers, Engineers, Lancers and Armored Soldier. The big difference in the new iteration is that you'll be able to change your troops between classes just by changing their weapon. However, you'll have to bear in mind that each character has a particular specialty, so he or she will always be stronger in one certain class. In regards to character growth, you will distribute experience to five different parameters for your entire squad. This is a change from distributing the experience to individual units.

The Potentials are a character's specific skills, which fall into two categories: Personal Potentials are innate and fixed, while Battle Potentials are learned through progress. These latter Potentials are learned through the Master Table, "which is meant to be a physical representation of the characters' internal world." Basically, you use the Table to get a visual idea of how to place your character in a position to nab rare, powerful Potentials. Lastly, you handle character growth and most other management via the Nameless Camp, your home base.

... Sega also revealed Binary Domain. Which may be the worst game since Quantum Theory.

Yeah I saw the preview for that game too...I have to agree, that game doesn't look that great...but they didn't show any actual gameplay it was just CG cut scenes. It has an interesting story idea, but so far? I'm going to have to see more before I even consider this game...

It's my time machine(it's all about the flux capacitor) and my lotto numbers, and you can't have either. This thing also goes back in time. This morning I decided there wasn't enough "Back to the Future" video games so, hehe, I fixed that ;)

There's three good reasons Binary Domain will blow.

A) The trailer was bad in so many ways.
B) It's another eastern dev trying to design a western stylized game--thinks of Quantum Theory
C) It's SEGA

Other useful facts I'm sure others would like to know:

-FF7 remake does release in 2012 to commemorate 25 years of Final Fantasy. And, yes, it's Aerith this time. Oh, and Ben D. takes a season off from PSXe to play it 4x back to back.

oh, and because everyone want's to know how things end for Xbox.
-MS pulls plug on the next Xbox after too many homes burned down due to faulty circuitry. The national crisis is coined "Red-Box-of-Death"
And on the upside, the country pulls out of the recession because the construction industry experiences a sharp incline by re-building so many homes.

Oh this looks good. I can't wait. I have VC2 arriving today.

I had a look at the linked articles. I really, really would like that VC3 accessory pack. I guess I'll be scouring ebay....

VC2 is just as good as VC just on a smaller screen. I think you'll enjoy it just as much as VC, even in it's smaller format. I found it pretty hard too put down! VC3 without a doubt will be great.

Oh i'm excited for it. I'm still playing VC2, and loving it. I hope they take their time though, I've got so many games on my list right now...

Erm... there are over 50 million PSPs that have been sold out there in the big, wide world. They've also said that they won't bring VC back to home consoles until they've got a new idea that is on par with the originality of the original game. Besides, it's faster and easier to develop a game for the PSP.

In an interview during the game's demo event, the producer gave a reason for not returning to the PS3: he said he "didn't want to make a PS3 version that simply reused the materials and engine from part 1".

The new additions and changes sound quite interesting. I do love this series, but I'm not really sure why. Although, the second one is sadistically hard at points... I hope that this is more like the original in terms of tone and difficulty.

Another sale they could've made if it went to PS3 instead. I loved the original and still play it from time to time, but I'm not spending more money on another handheld right now. Especially with more Christmas shopping still left to do :(
