Cladun: This is an RPG was fun. It was old-fashioned, good-humored role-playing entertainment.

And if that resonated with you, here's good news: according to Siliconera citing the latest Dengeki issue, the sequel will be launching in Japan next year. Known as Classic Dungeon in the Land of the Rising Sun, the follow-up effort will release on March 24; we don't yet have any word on whether or not it'll come to the US. Hopefully, sales of the original were high enough to warrant the arrival of Cladun 2, which was praised by those seeking a nostalgic RPG experience. Right now, all we know is that the sequel should boast "new weapons, jobs, and spells," but that's fine by us. Although we've lost much of the old JRPG style on home consoles, it seems many developers are perfectly willing to keep our memories alive and well via portable platforms. The PSP and DS have scores of solid old-school RPGs, as many owners will tell you.

We'll let you know if and when Cladun 2 lands a North American launch date. In the meantime, you might want to consider playing the first game; it's designed specifically for the veteran RPG lover.
