Sony Xperia Play Set To Greet The World Tomorrow Night?
Gonna watch the Super Bowl? Those new commercials make it tough to run to the kitchen, huh? ...I'm only being partially sarcastic.
Basically, it's widely assumed that the Sony Ercisson Xperia Play - aka the "PlayStation Phone" - will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona. Of course, Sony isn't too good at keeping their cards hidden, so we already have a complete outline for the unit, but perhaps the "official" part isn't far off. Maybe we'll see it even before the Barcelona event. According to an ABC News Nightline special on Super Bowl ads (and as noted by PlayStation LifeStyle), Sony will give everyone a sneak peek at the Xperia Play during the Super Bowl. With over 100 million expected viewers, that's a pretty darn good idea.
Sean Bryan, Group Creative Director for McCANN Worldgroup, told ABC that he has been cranking away on a new "top secret" TV spot that will debut during the year's biggest game. What is it? A "new gaming phone from Sony Ericsson." Well gee, that's hard to misinterpret. Added Bryan:
"Well, it’s the launch of a new product. We want people to know it’s coming, but we want them to wait to see the phone."
It won't be shocking those "in the know," my friend. We kinda have the lowdown already. But hey, most of the world remains in the dark so by all means, break that bad boy out tomorrow. And by the way, it's the same commercial that was already leaked earlier in the week, so...
P.S. I really don't care who wins that damn game. The 49ers haven't been anywhere near it in like a hundred years and it's just frustrating. But at least now we have a real coach.

It's like the Alienware laptops, which are "gaming laptops". Or laptops that are designed to specialize in gaming. While laptops in general can play games, Alienware appears to be the series of choice for those who like to game on laptops.
In turn even though many mobile phones are capable of playing games the Xperia Play is arguably the world's first mobile phone that is specifically designed for gaming. And therefore it would in theory be ideal for those who like to play games on mobile phones.
And for those not particularly interested in mobile phone gaming, that's where the Xperia Arc comes into play. And the Playstation Suite even allows Sony to reach consumers who choose a different Android device.
In other words by doing all of these things at the same time Sony is aiming to cover as many bases as they can. I think it's an excellent strategy.

I would of loved for the Vikings to make it this year. But it was just not the same team as last year. It was not farves fault. They were missing there star Receiver and randy moss just did not work with them. The defense wasn't even a 5th of what they were last year. It's to bad but anything can happen in Football. Everybody thought the Saints would just kill Seattle in the Wild card week of the playoffs and Seattle just embarrassed the Saints.

I can't be bothered with either team, but Ben's off-season activities last off-season should have earned him 15-life. He's a dirtbag of monstrous proportions.
Therefore, I will try to catch the commercials, and in the between times, play White Knight Chronicles.

That would be strange. I doubt that Sony would acquire a Superbowl slot and NOT show the Phone itself. It is the perfect venue for an introduction.
Showed the Engadget feature and the commercial to my wife yesterday and she is sold. PSP was too big for her to lug around. She likes all the features in one nice compact package. Kids want one too.
Sony is having a Love affair with my finances this year.

I'm watching it! It't the Superbowl, you have to wacth it no matter what teams are going to play in it.
I'm going for the Packers even though I been hating them for the past two years since Aron Rodgers has been starting QB for them, love them when Brett Favre(One of the best football players of all time) was there.
I hate the steelers, The refs favor them so much still today, its obvious. Superbowl XL was a joke and any body who says that game was clean is an idiot, the head ref came out last year and said he kicked a few calls. Seattle was a better team, way better team. But its hard when the refs are calling calls like they were paid off. The calls were so obvious. The final was 21-10 steelers. They took away a TD from Seattle, would of been 17-21 steelers. They gave a TD to Pittsburgh that was not a TD on the goal line. Would of been 17-14 Seattle. Plus the other bad calls that took away first downs and gave steelers the ball, stole Seattle's Momentum. Seattle should of won that game by a good 14 points if not more.
Ben, The 49ers went to the Super bowl in '95(I believe it was the chargers they beat). Like 4 years before that they went 2 years in a row.

As for the refs always favoring the Steelers, that's a lie. When the refs favor teams then I can tell you from years and years and years of watching football that they very rarely favor the Steelers. If you want to see teams the refs seem to eternally favor, look no further than the New England Patriots.

With PlayStation suite it's clear that Sony will be the gate keeper on content sold through the suite, so that malicious, or simply atrocious or buggy games don't get sold through it. Apple won't allow Sony to have that kind of direct relationship with book buyers, so why would they let Sony do that for the even more lucrative game market?
Gee, and people think that Sony are the bad guys these days...

hopefully wont be a repeat of the W850i, one of the worst phones i have had the misfortune to own!
had it for 2 days and the slider jammed so i could not open the phone, took 9 weeks to get that fixed!
than finally got it back, and after a month the battery died on me another 5 weeks getting that fixed, than the call and end buttons stopped working another 4 weeks getting that fixed!
yea, safe to say ill never be buying a SE ever again!
they use to make really good phones though, i remember the first color screened phone they made my father bought it, and its still sitting in the draw working like brand new!
never had a single thing go wrong with it!
sonys quality has gone down the shitter lately, they use to make the best unbreakable products, they use to be expensive but they were worth it.
now they have dropped the quality, now freaking china makes more reliable stuff!
but, they have not dropped the ludicrously high prices!

Like you, this one has more on their plate than will allow such research, and instead one has to rely on one's memory to detect the inconsistency. Fortunately, it's not that difficult.
