Star Ocean Creators Bringing Frontier Gate To PSP
If you're a fan of developer Tri-Ace - and many role-playing aficionados are - you'll be interested in learning more about their new project.
Little is known at this time, but it seems the Star Ocean developer has teamed up with Konami to work on two new projects: one is a dungeon-crawler for the Nintendo 3DS called The Labyrinth while the other is a "turn-based multiplayer role-playing PSP title called Frontier Gate that supports up to three players." Usually, when old-school RPG followers see "turn-based," they're excited...but when it has to be combined with multiplayer, many in that same group are a little disappointed. Even so, we have plenty of faith in Tri-Ace and something like Frontier Gate could be a fantastic addition to the PSP's ever-expanding library. Lest we forget, there are plenty of quality RPGs on Sony's portable.
And that includes the recently released Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection, which I can't seem to stop playing. :)

I'd likely be far more into this title if it were a console release. As for now, I'll have to wait and see how dependant it is on being multiplayer. A heavy-multiplayer driven game on the PSP won't be for me, I'm afraid. PSP is a strictly solitary activity.
I do love Tri-Ace, however.
