Silent Hill For Vita Is A Multiplayer, Top-Down Adventure
It's great that the PlayStation Vita is getting a Silent Hill. ...it's a little strange, but still.
Konami brought Silent Hill: Book of Memories to GamesCom this week and when they unveiled some early footage and details, everyone was a little taken aback. Firstly, it was described as a multiplayer action game (which may or may not surprise you) and secondly, it actually utilizes a top-down or isometric perspective. In addition, we'll be able to create our own character at the start of the game, which sort of makes sense from a multiplayer standpoint. The gameplay features the standard melee combat and what appears to be RPG-like elements, and there's no doubt that developer WayForward attempts to maintain that uber-creepy feel.
Personally, I don't want a Silent Hill that emphasizes multiplayer in any way, and I'm iffy on the top-down thing. If I didn't know better, I'd say they were trying to take yet another franchise in that twitchy direction... But I'm sure that in terms of the gameplay, that's not really true.
