Atlus Confirms Persona 4 For Vita, 2D Spin-Off Fighter
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 was a fantastic game.
And that's why we're excited to learn that Atlus is preparing a port of the game for the PlayStation Vita. Plus, Arc System Works is cranking on an interesting spin-off effort.
The BlazBlue developer will produce a 2D fighting game based on the Persona series; it'll be called "Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena" and release next spring in the Japanese arcades. A PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version is set for summer.
As for the Vita version of Persona 4, that will boast a new character (Mary), more voice performances, and new cut-scenes. We'll even get a wireless support feature so players can call upon friends when their party is close to death. This port for the Vita will be out in the spring in Japan.
Lastly, Atlus has confirmed that Persona 5 is in development; series director Katsura Hashino is back, as are Shigenori Soejima (lead character designer) and Shoji Meguro (music composer).
