Konami Finally Brings Castlevania To PSP
If you wanted to play a Castlevania installment on a handheld in the past, you were forced to choose a Nintendo product. But after six years of unending support for Nintendo's handhelds, Konami is finally bringing the legendary franchise back to a Sony platform; specifically, the PSP.
Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, a port of the PC Engine Duo's Dracula X: Rondo of Blood, is on the way. Recently unveiled at the press event for Konami's Gamer's Day, they explained that this new game will boast a full 3D overhaul for all you new-age gamers. But for the old-schoolers, Konami is including the original version in the package, and one other pleasant little surprise...
It's a direct port of the classic - and widely regarded as the absolute best Castlevania - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, complete with a redone translation and full-screen graphics. The complete reconstruction of Rondo of Blood was good enough, but throw in the original version and Symphony of the Night, and you've got a must-have for any PSP owner.
For now, Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles is loosely scheduled for a Fall 2007 release.
