Media-Create Japan Hardware Sales: Feb. 5-11
So with Virtua Fighter 5 reigning as the #1 selling game in
Japan from February 5th-11th, it left us to wonder what sort of
impact it'd have on the PlayStation 3's sales. And the answer
is...not much. Truly showing that the fighting genre has little
life left in it to carry consoles, sales of the PlayStation 3 saw
a jump of about 5k units over last week's.
But it is Nintendo's DS that continues to be the show-stopper, selling a staggering 201k systems! The Nintendo Wii offered a respectable number of over 78k consoles sold. Overall, hardware sales went up, with the exception of PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. The X360 sold 4800 consoles, and the PS2 moved 16k. Now the next thing left to anticipate for the PS3's sales is the release of the Gundam Musou game and the Musou PS3 bundle, both coming March 1st.
