Square-Enix Prepares FF Launch Party

Square-Enix has announced they'll be holding a special launch party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy, a franchise that has shipped over 75 million units worldwide since its inception in 1987. The event will take place on June 26 at the PlayStation Store at Metreon in San Francisco, and festivities will kick off at 6:00 p.m.

What launch are they celebrating you ask? Why, the release of the Final Fantasy remake for the PSP, of course! Those who attend the party will be able to pick up the classic revamped title, and furthermore, they'll get a chance to play the Final Fantasy II remake as well. It's also scheduled for the PSP, and set to arrive on July 24. But it doesn't end there. If you want more motivation to attend the launch party, the first 100 fans will get all kinds of cool giveaway items and gifts.

Both anniversary editions of these games will retail for the standard $29.99, and for more information on the event, go ahead and visit the official site.
