Atari Nixes Earthworm Jim For PSP

PSP fans had been looking forward to Earthworm Jim, which would've marked the return of the now-classic platformer that enjoyed multiple installments over the last couple generations. Unfortunately, it appears the project has been canceled...for now, at least.

Gamersreports.com contacted Atari, and they received the following response:

"I believe EWJ is off the roster. [It] may be revisited in the future, but the title is, as I hear it, on hold."

Atari does have Dungeons & Dragons Tactics on the immediate horizon, but there isn't much else for the PSP. Atari clarified that they're not focusing on PSP titles at this year's E3, which basically means the publisher doesn't have any projects scheduled for the handheld in the near future. Many fans out there would've liked to see Earthworm Jim, though.
