  It's the original title that kicked off one of the most critically acclaimed role-playing franchises in history, but sadly, North America never saw it. Therefore, well over a decade later, Square-Enix is giving us the chance we never had to play it: the remake, Star Ocean: The First Departure is among the major October releases, and certainly one of the most appealing PSP titles on tap for the month. Here's a nice close look at the game, and if you did play Star Ocean: The 2nd Story on the PS1, you will recognize this style of gameplay. Furthermore - and here's more good news - a remake of that sequel is also going portable, and will arrive only a few weeks after First Departure. Yep, The Second Evolution drops in November, RPG aficionados!
