By now you have to know the Tekken series, if not,
then where the hell have you been?! The Tekken
series has revolutionized the way we all played
fighting games today. The first Tekken surpassed any
fighting game, whether it was the PS version or the
arcade adaptation. And the current Tekken 3 is still
getting some heavy praise as being one of the
greatest if not the greatest fighters ever. So far
Namco has released 3 Tekkens and now they are ready
to release Tekken Tag Tournament, (which is
currently scheduled to be released on March 30 in
Japan).
We have over 80 screens of Tekken Tag for you to
enjoy and if you look at the first few you will
notice that the game didn't completely utilize PS2's
anti-aliasing at its present stage. The current
screens we have, show the true power of the PS2,
right away you should notice the anti-aliasing has
been turned on and the swaying grass looks gorgeous
in the background as well as the foreground. The
facial detail has been greatly increased, much
better than its arcade counterpart. There is
virtually no clipping, no polygons showing and the
backgrounds are in 3D instead of 2D.
The gameplay is a mix of Tekken 3 and Marvel vs
Capcom, TTT takes all the characters from Tekken 2
and Tekken 3 but adds something extra to give the
game that extra, umph! The tagging works a lot like
Capcom's versus titles (Marvel vs Street Fighter and
X-Men vs Street Fighter). You choose two fighters,
one as your starter and the other as your backup
partner. You have over 30 characters from which you
have 20 to access right away.
We will definitely have more info on Tekken Tag
Tournament as we try to acquire the import on March
30. The game is looking better than perfect,
especially in the visuals area. Stay tuned for more
coverage.
