Well, the big kahuna has announced the US release of the PS2 which is October 26 2000. For months and months we've all wanted to know how much the PS2 will cost, and today during the E3 Pre-Show, Sony has said that the price of the PS2 will be a steady $299. As for the modem and the hard drive, they won't be included and there is no information yet on when those peripherals will be released.

      What's more, is that not only do we have a DVD Player, PS1, a CD Player, Videogame system and everything else imaginable, but unlike the Jap PS2 there will be a 3 1/2 inch expansion port on the PS2. The expansion port will make upgrading the system very simple by allowing it to be utilized for hard drives, modems, and other add-ons. More on the E3 coverage as the days go on.
