In a recent announcement by Infogrames, it appears
as if the publisher has bought out developer
Paradigm, who has created games like Beetle
Adventure Racing and PilotWings 64. Infogrames'
chairman Bruno Bonnell has said the following at the
day of the announcement, "Infogrames' US
strategy moving forward is to increase the
percentage of titles developed internally, focus on
high quality titles and lead next-generation console
publishing." He continued by stating:
"Paradigm's 80-plus person development team
will propel us towards these goals with their proven
track record of quality content and technological
prowess."
So what did Paradigm have to say about this. Well
the president/CEO David Gatchel stated that
"Infogrames is a recognized leader within the
entertainment industry and Paradigm is honored to
join such a world class organization. Through our
relationship with Infogrames, Paradigm is positioned
to focus its creative and technological expertise
toward the continued development of quality
interactive experiences." With another company
added to the list, Infogrames is right now the
largest videogame company in the world. They plan to
support the PS2 along with other next-gen consoles
such Sega's Dreamcast and maybe even Microsoft's
X-Box.
