At a press conference held in Paris, France
where Ubi Soft's headquarters are, Ubi Soft's
chairman/CEO Yves Guillemont revealed to the
gaming press that aside from Rayman 2 three new
Rayman titles are currently in the works. One of
them is a sequel to Rayman 2 titled Rayman 3,
Rayman 3 is expected to be released next October
2001 for PS2. The second title talked about was
Rayman Tribes, this Rayman title was briefly
spoken of and Guillemont mentioned nothing on a
release date.
Now what really caught my attention is that Ubi
Soft is working on an Online Rayman game which
yet again the CEO spoke nothing of. All we got
from Ubi Soft was an announcement that three new
Rayman games are in the works, so don't e-mail
us for any other info, or I'll punish ya on my
letters page. In other words also at the press
conference Yves Guillemont also stated that Ubi
Soft is planning on releasing at least five
games within the first two months of the PS2's
launch in the US.
Following those five titles Ubi Soft will ship
an additional 11 new games after a 12 month
period. Gathering from what we know so far
Rayman 3 and Rayman Tribes may be one the two
titles out of the eleven. And then we have
Rayman 2, Dinosaur, POD, VIP, Monaco, Evil Twin,
Road to El Dorado and Donald Duck. I'm not sure
how many of those titles will be one of the 11
games but I have a good hunch the a majority of
them are. So there you have it folks. Ubi Soft
has announced a stellar 16 titles to be
available before the year 2002 approaches.
